When I found this video on Youtube early Sunday morning, I almost died. I was left speechless while watching the phenomenon that is Jennifer Lopez. I have been a fan since 1999 and am so grateful that I got the opportunity to meet this lovely woman in 2005 in NYC for the Rebirth album in-store signing. That was the first of my many travels to see her any chance I could. I have attended a JLO fashion show, eaten at her restaurant and seen her in concert twice. Once as part of a spanish concert in support of Como Ama Una Mujer and the other while she was on her first tour in 2007. All of my JLO adventures will be shared with you soon. In my opinion, this is one of the best performances of "Get Right" that she has given. Just like fine wine, this woman gets better with age. I attempted to attend the IHeart Radio Festival in Vegas last weekend, but was left hanging when tickets sold out in less than 10 minutes. I would love to fly to Connecticut in October to see her at the Mohegan Sun Arena, but I don't think that will happen. Until her next tour, I am perfectly content with watching her videos of numerous performances on Youtube. Shout out to facebook.com/JenniferLopezGreece for uploading and sharing. On behalf of all the JLOVE?RS, we thank you and to all those who claim she can't sing, the proof is right here in this video. Let yourself go and get right with me...

Oh My GIL!
With Oktoberfest in full swing and the Long Dog Derby this weekend I would like to introduce the Rocha family dachshund Gil. Gil aka Flyboy, Champ, Glib and Blip is the current champion of the Frankfurters from the Long Dog Derby 2010. Gil first competed in 2009 and although he was the leader of the pack, he stopped short of the finish line and did not claim the title. He competed again last year and victory was his. He will compete to defend his title Sunday September 25th 2011, racing against tons of other Denver dachshunds.Gil, a smooth hair, deep mahogany red dachshund will soon be three years old and currently weighs 13.4 lbs. Not only is he one of the fastest long dogs in the 303, he has a handful of talents. He can shake, high five, roll over and play dead. Please note when playing dead, his tail wags rapidly. For every trick he performs, he is rewarded with a treat. His favorites are Beggin' Strips and Pupperonis. Gil loves trips to his grama's house and loves visits from his uncles. He is fearful of trees, stop signs, elevators and metal tipped steak tongs.
If you are a dachshund lover I encourage you and your long dog to attend this weekend's festivities. For more info check out http://www.oktoberfest.com/ Gil's friends Lily and Lucas will also be competing in the Senior Sausage category. Gil hopes to be one of Joey's friends on 9news also. The whole family will be front and center to cheer on our Gil "Flyboy" Rocha or as I like to call him My little Gil.

Double Dose!
Three months into the Summer dancing season, I am still keeping very busy doing what I love. Bailando, bailando y mas bailando. Not only have I been dancing at Vinyl, I have participated in a GO GO Competition sponsored by the ladies of GOGO Galaxy and I auditioned for a position at another local club. The competition was held on 8/18/11 at The Church. I made it to the second and final round and although I did not win, I am happy I participated. The winner is pictured above. There were more women dancers than men, so I expected a female to take the prize of $250. Shout out to James Bailey who captured the night thru his camera lens. Earlier this month I auditioned for the second time at Tracks Nightclub. I first auditioned in February. Knowing that Climaxx Sundays at Vinyl are coming to end, I eagerly made my way to audition. Three weeks later I am proud to say I begin tonight! I am pleased that after what felt like a "war" between managers at both clubs, all is worked out. A mutual decision was reached for me to dance at both clubs for a few weeks. There is enough A.RO for all. Tonight I'll make my Tracks debut and tomorrow I'll rock it at Vinyl for the End of Summer Party. Denver are you ready for a DOUBLE DOSE?
