Show & Tell

When was the last time you participated in Show and Tell?

I'm sure the memories of this elementary school public speaking activity are flooding back to you as you read this. I recall the times I would share info about my goldfish or show my many micromachines or He-Man action figures. Today Show & Tell is a part of the Westword blog, for which my brother, Mauricio has begun writing for. First blog entry hit Wednesday and next week he'll be featured in the Night + Day section of the weekly publication. Peep his name the furthest on the right on the bottom.

After his feature in Pieces of Denver, Feverish Delirium was published with Colorado Journal. To browse his first story for Show and Tell on the Westword blog and his featured story on CO Journal, click the links posted below. His thoughts are well in distribution.

For my Show & Tell today I share a recent poem that Mauricio wrote for me. I was very touched when I read it. My brother almost brought me to tears and most certainly Mom was in tears when she read hers. He is such an incredible writer and no one knows me better than my brothers. Like to read it? Here it goes.

Go To Work:

Faded to the top, and eager to flex and dance
When you disrobe and reveal , a costume of body paint and masks
You are ready to go to war, battle the box
The platform that elevates you above the crowd,
So much switching of titles and hats, you must be on your toes at all times
And in shape for the next day,
It's a fun time in nine-OH-nine, with drinks of vodka and wine
The music... til he feels so, just ask Tatiana and those around-

This show belongs to A. Ro.

Love U bro!
